North Carolina Justice Center

The North Carolina Justice Center is one of the state’s preeminent voices for economic and social justice. As a leading progressive research and advocacy organization, our mission is to eliminate poverty in North Carolina by ensuring that every household in the state has access to the resources, services, and fair treatment it needs to achieve economic security. The Justice Center’s Education and Law Project seeks to improve public education through legislative advocacy, community outreach, research and litigation. We are committed to ensuring that at risk students of color, students with disabilities, English language learners, and economically disadvantaged students have the resources they need to receive a high-quality education and be successful in life after school. The public schools that serve approximately 90% of North Carolina’s families and serve as the foundation of our democracy and our communities need increased support if the state is to succeed economically and provide opportunity for all children.
